As a public benefit corporation, we are owned by 19,500 members, including patients, staff, and the public, who are represented by elected governors.
Our governors:
- Connect us to the local community
- Represent members and the public in Trust decisions
- Advise the board, who manage hospital operations
Role of governors
Governors are very important to ensure a link between the members of the NHS Foundation Trust, the wider community and those who run the hospital.
Non-urgent advice: Roles
Governors play a vital role in linking the Trust with its members and the wider community.
They communicate with those who elected them, including patients, staff, and the public.
They also monitor areas such as patient experience, quality, safety, and financial performance.
